My Day with Phineas and Ferb

(Author's note: I'm not comfortable saying my name online, so the name I give for myself, family, friends, or non-Phineas and Ferb-people will be fake names.)

My life used to be pretty normal. I never noticed how much till the day I met two extraordinary boys who showed me how exciting life can be—if you just change your view.

…How mushy was that?

It's true though. I bet you want to know what happened, right? Well I'll tell you.

It all started when my school let out in the beginning of June. The last Friday at school and it went by how it would for a normal day.

I walked home, dumped all my schoolbag in my room, hung out with my family for most of the evening, watched my favorite TV show, and then went out to the backyard to watch the sunset-sky before I had to go in. I don't do the latter often, but on the last day of school I make it a tradition.

So there I was; lying in the grass, watching the partly-clouded multi-colored sky as the sun went down.

Just then, wind started blowing around up above me. I stood up, feeling a little creeped-out from the sudden chill.

It seemed like the sky fused together or something before it opened into a greenish…portal of some kind.

I backed up as green electricity and wind started coming from the weird hole. Right when I did, two figures came down from the hole, right before it closed up, leaving the sky as its normal, multi-colored self.

…But then I looked down to the two figures.

'This is a dream.' I instantly thought. 'This is some insane dream. I fell asleep in the backyard. I'm hallucinating. I'm going crazy.'

I looked down at the two; it was two boys—they looked about ten. One had red hair and wore an orange-stripped t-shirt with blue shorts and converse to match. The other had green hair and wore purple pants with black converse.

I knew them. I'd seen them. You know that favorite show I was talking about earlier? Yeah—it was THEIRS.

I couldn't believe my eyes until the red-head finally came to.

He shook his head first, but then looked up at me. I think I looked odd to him—considering I wasn't DRAWN like he was used to—but he smiled.

"Hi."

I figured that would be the first thing he said.

I was still shocked, but I looked back with wide eyes. "…hi…"

The green-haired boy looked up next and waved his hand; he was silent—I was used to this.

I pretended not to know their names. "…So-uh…who are you?"

The red-head stood up and smiled. "Oh—sorry. I'm Phineas and this is my brother Ferb."

I knew it.

I knew it, I knew it, but somehow I didn't believe it.

Phineas smiled back at me. "What's your name?"

I shook my head to release some of the stun. "…I-I'm Caroline; my mom calls me Carol."

Phineas smiled again. "Cool."

"Uhm…Mind telling me how you got here—? Or at least into my backyard—?"

"We don't know what happened; one minute we were working on a Dimensional Transporter in our backyard, the next minute we landed here."

I straightened. "Dimensional Transporter?"

"Yeah; cool, huh?"

I wanted to say "Yeah" so badly, but I was still freaking out at how THE Phineas and Ferb were standing in MY backyard.

I finally smiled. "I'm sorry—I'm just a little stunned…"

"Why?"

I looked up at them, rooted to the ground. "Well…uhm…"

I didn't know what to say. What would I tell them?

'It's no big deal, it's just that you're characters on a TV show in this dimension and you're not actually real'?

OH-HO NO; definitely not that last part.

"…I-I've heard of you before is all. I-I know ALL about Phineas and Ferb of Danville—and about what you've done."

Technically, I wasn't lying. I'm one of the largest PnF fans out there; probably not THE largest, but one of.

Phineas smiled again. "Sweet."

He looked to his brother. "Well, I guess we should be getting back home; Mom will get worried if we aren't home before dinner."

"How are you going to get home?"

Phineas smiled and was about to reply……but then he slowly frowned and looked to Ferb again.

"Ferb?"

The latter shrugged and shook his head.

Phineas looked down worriedly. "Huh……I don't know. We hadn't made a remote or anything yet just in case we got separated from the machine—and it's not two-way…"

"So…you guys really have no way home?"

They looked to each other just as sadly as I looked to them.

I then smiled a small smile. "Well…It's getting late. I'm pretty sure you can bunk with me for the night. And tomorrow's Saturday; we'll have ALL DAY to figure something out."

They smiled slightly—though I could still see sadness in their eyes—and nodded.

So then the three of us walked back inside, now that the sun had fully set.

Having two boys that appeared out of thin air was definitely a surprise in my house.

One of my older sisters—Alice—reacted first.

She immediately recognized them too. "Is that who I think it is—!?"

I panicked first, but then Phineas smiled to her.

"Hi—I'm Phineas and this is Ferb."

"I know! You two are incredible!"

Phineas looked to her confusedly. "You know us?"

I quickly went around and spoke for her. "Of course—I-I mean everyone in this town knows about you. Who hasn't heard of you two?"

I turned to my sister to quickly whisper 'don't tell them who they really are here—it would freak them out; Phineas especially.'

She nodded, and then looked back to them. "Right; everyone knows about the awesome stuff you do over summer."

Phineas grinned. "It's the best time of the year! We were working on a Dimensional Transporter—but I guess something went wrong and it transported us here. Sorry for any intrusion by the way."

My mom finally spoke up from the kitchen.

"It's…no problem, but—"

"Can they stay for the night?" I interrupted before she could ask anything.

She looked to me for a moment; she finds the show annoying sometimes [mainly from how often I watch it] but she still thinks it's cute.

"I guess, but where will they sleep?"

"The couch out in the living room will probably be big enough."

She still looked stunned—and unsure—but she agreed.

So I then showed the boys to the couch and the three of us sat down.

Phineas looked to me as soon as he sat down. "So how does your whole town know about us anyway?"

Shoot; I forgot Phineas liked to ask a lot of questions.

Still, I smiled. "Oh—well…a lot of people in this town have heard about the stuff you guys do. What's not to brag about it? You guys do amazing things every day and you're only ten."

They smiled at this, but then Phineas turned to Ferb.

"Hey! Maybe if we link a satellite to a computer and mess with the circuits a little—we could create some sort of dimensional messaging device to communicate back home!"

He looked to reach for something that wasn't there; when he found he didn't have what he was thinking of, I stood up.

"Stay put; I'll be right back."

I got up and went back to my room for a minute; I found what I was looking for and came back out, went over to the two and held the item out to Phineas.

"Here; this is what you were wanting, right?"

It wasn't his own, but it was a sketchbook. I have a lot lying around for when I'm in the mood.

He grinned. "It's perfect! How did you know that's what I was looking for?"

I shrugged. "I'm a bit of a fan; but don't worry—I don't get all giddy like that."

I really don't. I'm calm in most situations [even if inside I was squeeing like an idiot].

I gave Phineas a pencil and he started on about the dimensional messenger; I wasn't surprised when I found it to be completely brilliant.

Once he had finished, he grinned at the completed print.

"……and then we hook the blue wire here and we should be able to send a message home to a computer—!"

He grinned and said the words as he turned to his brother.

"Ferb, I know what we're gonna do tomorrow!"

Okay yeah—I felt so bad that I wanted to squee right then. I wanted so badly to freak out like the fan-girl I was.

But then I also knew to keep calm—if I freaked out, not only would they think I was weird, but then Phineas would probably start questioning again.

Ferb gave a thumbs up, but then a thought struck my mind.

I didn't even realize what I said before I said it.

"Hey—where's Perry?"

I then realized what I said and thought 'Oh em gee—I actually said the Perry line!!'

But then I added "I-I mean, was he with you when you came?"

"I don't think so; he left earlier in the day."

I nodded in understanding, but I could hear the 'Agent P' theme song in my head.

I stood up. "Alright; it's almost nine-thirty and if we're gonna build this thing, then we're gonna need to start early—best to get enough shut-eye."

Phineas nodded. "Good point."

I smiled and said good night before going into my room—where I found my mom and two sisters waiting.

My mom looked to me first. "What did you do—!? How are they here—!?"

"First; I didn't do anything. Second; it was just like they said—they were working on some Dimensional Transporter and something went wrong and it transported them here."

Alice spoke up again. "I heard what he was saying too—he said the words—!!"

Yeah. She's not afraid to freak out; luckily she did it QUIETLY.

But then she looked to me. "And you got to say the Perry line you lucky bum!"

"I know, right?" I said, letting a little of my squee out at the same time.

But then I cleared my throat and looked to my mom. "…Th-They're gonna start building something to communicate back to their own dimension tomorrow—then they'll be getting back home."

My mom looked unsure still, but she nodded. "Alright……but you're in charge of them while they build it."

I suddenly felt like Candace Flynn.
Okay yeah. I had this dream where this happened and I thought "Oh em gee! This would be such a great story for DeviantART!"

So here it is. The first part :) I will be working on my other fanfiction I have too, but still.

:squee: I love writing this so much!
